| It happened on April 2008: The Scientific Committee gathered during the ENT Brazilian Congress and was very pleased and surprised by the number of abstracts and instructional courses that are already being submitted. Between March and April, over 500 invitations have been sent out to guest speakers all over the world. Dr. David Kennedy has confirmed that The American Academy, AAO-HNS, will participate at IFOS 2009 with a special symposium, which is being organized by Prof. Eugene Myers. Dr. Olofsson, EUFOS President, confirmed that the European Federation will also have an special scientific symposium during the congress. Dr. Pekka Karma confirmed that The Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum will sponsor the CORLAS Minisymposium. The Pan-American Association of Otorhynolaringology and Head & Neck has also confirmed the organization of a symposium. The European and the International Salivary Gland Society will also organized their symposium, which is being organized by Dr. F. Marchal from Switzerland. We encourage all National and International Societies to actively participate in the scientific program, to stimulate their members to submit papers and instructional courses.
It happened on February 2008: The scientific program has been structured and over 600 speakers from 30 different countries have been invited so far. Besides key note speakers lectures, the program will have panels with plenty of time for discussion and questions from the audience. Registration for Instructional Courses is now open on-line. Courses can have the duration of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. All presenters must register before September 1st, 2008. Rules & Submission AWARDS AT IFOS 2009:

It happened on December 2007: From December 5 to 8, the Brazilian ORL Foundation held in Rio de Janeiro its annual meeting for approximately 2000 professionals. As established in the timeline determined in our last meeting in August, the IFOS 2009 National Scientific Committee gathered again to work on the program. Since we are receiving a lot of suggestions from the congress website and the scientific committee members have already put together a lot of information, names and topics as well as the commitments of worldwide key opinion leaders, this time, the discussions focused on session allocations, and the general outline of the program. We are getting ready for the formal invitations! (Click over picture to see it enlarged) It happened on August 2007: On February 9, 2007 the IFOS Ad-Hoc Committee members gathered in Sao Paulo for a two-day meeting to finalize the program guidelines, main topics assignments, logistics and deadlines. As part of the Feb 9 meeting guidelines and according to the previously established Scientific Committee’s schedule, it was hold in São Paulo, last August 24th, the first Latin American Meeting to concert the methodology of work for the world ENT congress scientific program.
